In yet another way MadTree continues to set themselves into a category of Cincinnati Brewery that has been seldom explored before.  This little Arbor Day idea is a simple one, but I think it shows a part of MadTree that is important to look at.

Arbor Day is an easily overlooked holiday – I mean… trees are such a common part of our lives at this point that we can look right past them and their once a year celebration so quickly.  Unless of course you’re a Cincinati Brewery who’s named after the common plants that surround us.  Here, in the midst of the busiest time that the brewery has ever seen since they opened their doors they’ve managed to show yet another one of the ways that they live their motto of “Beer builds community, community builds beer”.

Buy A Beer, Plant A Tree

Hit up MadTree soon to celebrate Arbor Day. If you buy a pint of beer you can receive your own little sapling that you can plant to celebrate Arbor Day.  They’re giving away Dawn Redwood’s to drinkers so that we might all take home our own little MadTrees to plant and nurture through the years to come, and what a choice the Dawn Redwood is!

According to the brewery’s website:

The Dawn Redwood tree is truly a living fossil! Thought extinct for millions of years, Dawn Redwood dates back to Mesozoic times, some 150 million years ago. Living Dawn Redwoods were “discovered” in West Central China in 1941. Unlike its Redwood Family relatives, Dawn Redwood is a deciduous tree, losing its bronze leaves each autumn and unfurling bright green, silky new needles in spring. A truly unique and fascinating tree – rich in history and beautiful to behold – Dawn Redwood grows very rapidly, easily reaching heights of more than 100 feet at maturity. Can be kept garden-size with careful pruning. Learn more about this awesome tree!

Really cool… right?

They just started this yesterday – and the trees will probably go pretty quickly judging by how busy that brewery seems to always be so do as I always say and “Make like a tree and drink a beer.”
