If you didn’t make it out this year to celebrate Ohio Craft beer, and delicious holiday seasonals, you need to go ahead and make yourself a reminder for next year to make sure you get out to the event. The event was a blast…an afternoon filled with big flavorful beers, some amazing food and an abundance of holiday merriment.
I thought I would write up a quick post for those of you who didn’t make it out, and maybe even for those of you who were there, but wanted to know what I learned from my time in the big tent by the river.
- I learned that holiday beers are amazing in the dead of winter…but still incredible in early november.
- You won’t hear me talk about it very much on this blog normally…but Ohio has some amazing brewers, making some really great stuff – outside of Cincinnati as well as in it.
- The Cincinnati beer community has a lot of really incredible and welcoming people in it, but it’s also got it’s fair share of asshats who don’t understand what the craft beer community is about at all.
- It doesn’t matter how big your brewery is, or is not – it’s all equal in a 4oz tasting glass pressed up to my lips.
- Beer and Food pairing is freaking awesome… Nate Whittington from the lager house needs to come cook at my house one weekend.
So thank you for all the breweries that made the trip down to our lovely city – I hope you had as much fun as I did yesterday – and thank you to the Ohio Craft Brewer’s Association for putting on an amazing event!
