I’m not sure how many people scour social media looking for all the latest beer tapping information the way I do, but If you’re on social media at all, I hope you’ve made a note of this already. Though, if not, I suppose that’s the exact same reason that I exist, isn’t it?
About The Beer
Back in March at their Once In A Lifetime Gala Rivertown Brewing offered up a reward to create your own beer at Rivertown. The prize was given to Brennan Burt by his family as a 21st birthday surprise. Brennan, being a student at Ohio State created a beer inspired by his school. The result of the efforts by him (and his family) is a peanut butter, chocolate stout that we are all now lucky enough to enjoy.
The name christened for this beer? Brennans Bucknut Brew.
The Tapping Event
Of course, I wouldn’t be writing about this if it was just some random beer tapping. The event is still geared up to benefit ‘The Cure Starts Now’. The charity is the same from the Gala that this whole beer started from. Originally started back in 2007 in tribute to 6 year old Elena Desserich and her fight against brain cancer, The Cure Starts Now has become one of the fastest growing cancer research charities. They now have 26 chapters worldwide and have funded over 6.7 million dollars in homerun cancer research at institutions globally, including Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
A portion of the proceeds from each and every keg of this beer will be going directly back to support The Cure Starts Now in their mission to help find the homerun cure for cancer.
Mark your calendar now, lest you forget about this. Rivertown Brewing in Lockland is hosting the beer and tapping event on Tuesday, June 21st from 6-10pm.
