Brewery – Wiedemann
Beer – Monmouth Street
Style – Blonde Ale
ABV – 3.6%
This refreshing blonde ale is an easy drinking beer that is sure to please every palate.
Wiedemann is a brewery that knows how to create things for both craft beer folks, as well as people who might be into some more “approachable” things, as well. It’s showcased in everything from their taproom vibe, to the beer that they make – and this one is no exception to that mantra.
The beer’s name comes from Monmouth Street in Newport, Kentucky, which was home to the Wiedemann Brewery back in the late 1800s. The “new era” of the brewery loves to pay homage to their past, while working their way through the exciting things that are currently happening in craft beer, too.
My Thoughts on Wiedemann Monmouth Street Blonde Ale
Monmouth Street pours a beautiful, clear and bright yellow color, with a small fluffy white head on top.
The aromas bounce from light fruit to a rich breadiness, nothing that will turn off the beer drinker that is looking for something light and easy, in fact – that’s where this beer shines.
It’s a little “heartier” than some of the crispier beers that you’ll find – which lends this to pairing up with some food in the Wiedemann brewpub very nicely. It’s exactly what it needs to be, refreshing, drinkable and yet full-flavored.
