If you have ever put a morsel of food in your mouth in Cincinnati, you’ve probably heard of Jeff Ruby’s. If you have ever poured a drop of craft beer down your throat, you’ve probably also heard of Taft’s Brewing Company. These two Cincinnati staples have combined forces to make sure that when you do both things together – you’ve got something to tell your friends about afterwards.

About Jeff Ruby’s

Jeff Ruby started things out here in Cincinnati back in 1981 with his first restaurant which is still open in Columbia Tusculum, called The Precent. It was followed up over the years with names you know, like the Waterfront, Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse, Carlo and Johnny’s and Jeff Ruby’s locations in two other states as well.

For Jeff Ruby’s, the success that they have found in the business always comes back to the experience that you receive when you dine at one of their locations. It’s a great meal, and you feel like a million bucks when you’re eating it.

The Beer

It makes sense, then that Jeff Ruby’s and Taft’s would team up for a collaborative beer. The brewery has made a name for themselves in their own right for the experience that you get while spending some time in one of their two Cincinnati tap rooms. The brewpub in OTR blew people away with it’s attention to detail when it opened it’s doors, and the brewpourium showed exactly how you can turn a production space into something unique and enjoyable as well as functional.

The brewery has created a specially branded can of a Smoked Amber Ale that sounds to me like it would go great with a big meal capped off with one of Jeff Ruby’s fantastic USDA Prime Steaks. The beer features just a touch of cherrywood smoked malt for a beer that is smooth, and layered with deep flavors that will pull even more out of your meal – as well as your experience.
