We’ve been talking a lot lately about the second location for Mason’s 16 Lots Brewing Company, and I don’t think it’s time to slow down yet! The brewery announced the next addition to its leadership team for the Southern Outpost this week, and they snagged another great one.

Kathy O’Connell will be joining the brewery as their Director of Hospitality. She’ll be working at the brewery as a full-time employee and co-owner in the new brewery concept, and will be directly responsible for developing their hospitality standards and hiring and training their staff.

If you know her, you know that Kat is going to knock this out of the park…

Getting To Know Kathy O’Connell

Kat has been working her way through the industry for more than 17 years, in every role you can imagine from server and bartender to chef and business owner. She knows the ins and outs of the hospitality industry because of it, too.

You might know her from Copper & Flame in OTR, which opened in 2021. Prior to opening the business, she was operating Revolution Rotisserie and has worked in hotels, breweries, and fine dining. After her experiences in the local brewing industry, her passion for craft beer, cocktails, and events has led her down the path that perfectly leads to the new 16 Lots location in Newport.

The News Keeps Coming!

If you haven’t already, you’ll probably want to make sure that you listen to the recent episode of Cincy Brewcast where I sat down with Del Hall over at Beer, Booze, and Bonks to chat about the new 16 Lots location. They’re working incredibly hard right now to make it work – and you can expect an opening this spring.
