Garage Beer has an interesting story. It was born out of Braxton Brewing Company in Covington, Kentucky, as an “in-between” beer of sorts. It was a light lager that made both craft beer fans and macro fans happy at the same time. That resonated with drinkers of all types, and the brand has exploded in popularity ever since.

It first debuted in August 2018. With a pilsner malt body and an addition of all Magnum hops, which gave it a slight bitter balance, Cincinnati fell in love with it.

This “every day, every person” beer took off so much that in 2023, the brand was split off through a partnership into its own company to better facilitate its growth. The recipe was reworked to make it even more approachable, the branding was simplified, and they dove into growing the new company head first. It worked, and there are plans in place to get the brand nationwide in the near future.

My Thoughts On Braxton Garage Beer

In the glass, Garage Beer is bright, yellow, and fizzy—beer in the most stereotypical way possible. A light, fizzy white head sits perched on top of the glass, and grainy aromas leap forth as you get your nose over the top.

The flavor of Garage Beer isn’t going to be something that blows anyone away, and that’s sort of the whole point of it. It’s a beer for folks who want simplicity… and with that – it’s excellent. Crisp, clean, refreshing… it’s the beer you can always have on hand to share with people. Beer for every day.
