Bucketheads Just Kind Of Does It All Really Well

When Bucketheads opened their doors right off of Interstate 74 on Harrison Ave, they created a sports bar where people could go and not only grab a drink and watch their favorite teams on TV—but could also grab a great meal that is packed full of value as well as great taste.

It seems like a simple prospect, and yet, watching a lot of other bars around town, it is actually a difficult target to hit. Not only has Bucketheads nailed that – they have done so while also making a bar that manages to feel like a neighborhood spot that I want to spend time in.

What To Expect From Bucketheads

With a name like Bucketheads, you aren’t really sure what the place will feel like. It’s just as likely to be filled with animatronic animals singing Happy Birthday as it is to be a bar that satisfies that “itch”.

When you walk into the bar, you walk into a big room. It’s split into two separate spaces, though they’re very open to each other. One side is all dining tables, set up for folks to have a meal, groups of friends to gather and settle in for an entire day of football, or a big family to come in and gather after an event.

The other side of the space is the bar, a surprisingly big bar that stretches across the whole side of the room. If you’ve got a few folks with you, it’s surrounded by high-top tables to meet your needs.

16 taps of beer provide a wide variety of things for the “beer folks.” (with that said, I’d be lying to you if I told you it was a lot of craft beer options). They do have a good spirits selection, some nice wine choices and basically a little bit of everything for everyone in your group to leave happy.

Why You Should Be Drinking At Buckethead’s

Buckethead’s isn’t groundbreaking. They don’t have the most innovative, crazy menu (though… they have some great stuff on there, and their specials are usually excellent, fun options) – the beer isn’t wild choices. The space is literally just a sports bar, so why should you be drinking there versus somewhere else?

Simply put, they do everything wonderfully. They make you feel great while you’re hanging out. The food is solid, and the people at the bar have always been friendly and up for conversation. Every box is checked.

In a world where Applebees and Fridays have dominated simple, easy food with a beer, we need more places like Bucketheads that kick it up a notch or two.
