It has long been the fuel of hipsters and dive bar patrons, but Pabst is looking to expand their reach with folks looking for something a little lighter that “doesn’t sacrifice the quality and affordability that they’ve come to expect from the Pabst name.” That’s right… Pabst is releasing Pabst Light Lager with a planned rollout starting, well – now… April of 2025.

The new beer is only 96 calories, 3.5g of carbs, and 4.2% ABV.

Pabst is saying that the new beer offers up everything that you want in a light beer, without sacrificing flavor or personality… something that is pretty tough to do with a light beer. In the press release they go on to say that they achieved this by crafting the beer with “premium hops and grains” – and if that doesn’t give me hope… I don’t know what will.

The can design blends retro inspiration with a modern, clean design. They’re hoping to appeal to a new generation of light beer drinkers while still giving the nod to their traditional brewing history (this is a company that goes back to 1844) giving a little something for all different types of drinkers to rally behind.

Keep your eyes peeled for the beer, as it should be hitting shelves very soon – and if you snag a taste before I do… let me know what you think!
