Braxton Becomes The First Official Craft Sponsor Of The Reds!

Introducing: Ballpark Beer!

This is HUGE, and only makes the quickly approaching spring that much more exciting for me. The folks at Braxton aren’t just fans of baseball season in Cincinnati, they are announcing today that they are partnering up this year to become the first ever official local craft beer of the Cincinnati Reds.

That’s right, folks. Ballpark Beer is taking on a whole new meaning this season!

About The Partnership

This is a multi-year agreement between the Cincinnati Reds and Braxton Brewing Company one that will see Braxton develop a co-branded lineup of craft beers that will not only be available at Great American Ballpark itself, but at all the Braxton taprooms, and at select retail locations all around the city, too.

This isn’t just about a new brand, this is about a new way to let folks engage with the Braxton name in more places that beer just makes sense – in a world where too many people are talking about the struggles of craft beer – this feels great. Beer and baseball go together, and that makes a partnership like this feel so much more special than a lot of the other ones that breweries dream up.

Meet Ballpark Beer

This beer, dubbed fittingly enough as ‘Ballpark Beer’, was brewed to be the perfect beer to enjoy all through a hot baseball game. It’s a German-style light beer, crisp, clean and super refreshing.

Actually, as I’m writing those words out, I’m realizing that the beer sounds like the perfect beer for me to drink while I’m hanging out on couch, too…

As soon as I get my hands on it, I’ll definitely be sharing my full thoughts, but for anyone who’s a longtime fan of Braxton, you know that they can make some great lagers, so I anticipate that this one will scratch that itch wonderfully!

The Debut

If all this sounds like something that you want in your hands (and in your face) you’re in luck. You won’t have to wait long. Not only is baseball season right around the corner, but the release is even closer. Braxton will debut ‘Ballpark Beer’ on March 7th at all four of the Braxton taprooms and around Greater Cincinnati the following week.

You’ll have to make note with this, too – as the partnership as outlined above includes a “co-branded lineup” of “craft beers”.

That’s right, we’re going to see more as the baseball season unfolds in front of us. They’re not done – and that? That might be even more exciting than a little bit of warm weather.

My Takeaway

Beer and Baseball certainly go hand-in-hand – but beer and the Reds? It’s a lot deeper than most teams. Not only are we talking about Cincinnati’s team (beer is in our DNA) but back in 1880 the team was actually kicked out of baseball for refusing to stop serving beer.

Local beers were a huge part of the game, and to finally move into the modern craft beer world with a local partner? It just feels right.

Well done, Braxton – Well done, Reds. Now let’s get baseball season going!
