The Old Munich Brewing Company opened up in a small porter of the former Christian Moerlein Brewery after prohibition ended. A new ownership group hoped to bring back the prestige that the brand (Moerlein) once held in the city, unfortunately, they were only able to last about four years before being forced to close their doors. The brewery lived in relative obscurity in those few years they operated, and even briefly renamed themselves the Tyler Brewing Company.
