I’ve written a few times about how MadTree is focusing their marketing and their branding efforts into showcasing their love for the outdoors, and the latest can release is designed around that idea. Ramble on will be a lot of things, but the maybe the biggest, and most newsworthy part of it’s story is that it’s a flavorful, juicy IPA that clocks in at only 106 calories.
Yes – This is MadTree’s “low-cal” beer.
About The Beer
Ramble on was built around MadTree’s love for being outside, in a bit of a different way. This isn’t a beer about jogging, or hardcore outdoor sports or something… it’s inspired by ‘The Rambler’. I am a rambler… and thus, I can relate whole-heartedly to this. A rambler is someone who walks for pleasure, easygoing, slow… just enjoying being outside. This beer is built upon that principle.
MadTree’s head brewer, Ryan Blevins says about the beer in their press release:
“We set out to brew a juicy IPA full of citrus flavor that was lower in calories – but we weren’t willing to sacrifice taste just to hit a specific calorie count, and the results are fantastic – it’s a great beer.”
The 4% ABV IPA is designed for whatever outdoor adventure that you find yourself on. It highlights grapefruit and orange citrus flavors with a refreshing finish. It went through a ton of testing, through the “Flavor Space Force” – which is what MadTree calls their innovative R&D program. The brewery invited nearly 175 different volunteers into the taproom to taste the same beer but fermented with different yeast strains and natural citrus flavors. They took this thing extremely serious, and I’m sure that it shows in the final product.
If that’s not enough – you’ll be happy to know that this is also the first MadTree beer to feature the 1% for the Planet logo, which is the new non-profit organization that they joined to showcase this side of who they are.
