Food ShakeUps At The Well In Covington
Written By: The Gnarly Gnome

If you like to frequent The Well over in Covington (and you probably should), you will likely notice that the food is undergoing a bit of a shake-up as we head into February. Longtime partner Beards And Bellies Barbecue (which is the same ownership as Grub Local, their original food partner) is headed out as they start to plan their next phase as a company (including rumors of a standalone operation).
That, of course, doesn’t mean that The Well is going to leave you high and dry when it comes to food while you’re at the bar, though!
They are teaming up with El Jefe’s Cubanos & More to create a tropical-inspired food program that will not only be delicious, but it’ll be perfect with the awesome patio space that the well leans on in the warmer months of the year.
About El Jefe’s
If El Jefe’s sounds familiar, it’s because the concept isn’t new. They are moving from their space over at Covington Yard. Over there, they’d been working since 2024 to showcase a menu that brings together a Cuban-inspired, sandwich-focused menu with some fun other twists like tacos and quesadillas.
The restaurant is owned and run by El Jefe Colman and Timothy Gonzales, a duo of chefs with a wonderful vision that I think will only enhance the already great atmosphere at The Well.
The new restaurant is scheduled to open its doors on 2/6/2026!
