Opening in Fairfield and Forest Park’s Forest Fair mall, Wallaby Bob’s was the first brewpub anywhere to be opened in a shopping mall, and definitely one of the first to open in the Cincinnati area. You can read in some places that the reason for their short lifespan was inconsistent beers and “rampant off-flavors” – but I’m not sure that I buy that as why they are no longer around.

The story I have heard first hand is that their Australian partners maybe weren’t paying their rent to the other side of the joint venture. Either way and I have hopes to do a little more digging into the brewery at some point – they didn’t last even a year before they were forced to close their doors.
