While Wooden Cask has become known for classic, European styles (that’s certainly not the only beers they brew, though) their taproom is designed to create a space that works for EVERYONE in your group. That’s a good thing, too, because their big taproom attracts groups of all sizes, and that’s not always easy to manage.

Before you even get into the taproom, you’ll notice one BIG feature that they don’t advertise enough. Parking. They have a big, private parking lot, meaning that you aren’t going to have to hunt for a space when you want to swing by. From there, you cross their long patio that stretches along the building and enter into their warm and inviting taproom space.

The bar sits right in front of you, featuring around 14 taps and a literal wall of bourbon, if that’s your jam. Situated around the room are every type of seating you can imagine. High tops, low tops booth tables, couches… again, it’s a space that is really, really situated to please your entire group.

The upstairs event space, called ‘The Alley’ is not just a spot for you to rent out for your next event. This is a mecca for bourbon lovers. The selection that you were amazed by downstairs? That’s nothing compared to what you’ll find upstairs… it’s one of the best bourbon selections that you’ll find in Newport (and that’s saying a lot!).

While you’re spending your time at Wooden Cask if you happen to get hungry, you’ll find a menu that it built around flatbreads and sandwiches. It’s food that pairs up perfectly with beer. No one wants to get hungry while they’re trying to spend a day drinking, right?
