DogBerry is one of this city’s smallest brewery’s… but being a nano-brewery doesn’t mean you can’t try to do big things for other people, and they are most definitely doing that in their less than a year existence. This winter, in addition to kicking off another day of taproom hours (They are now open on Thursdays!) they are kicking off an event that they are calling “fill the kettles”.
What is it?
They want their customers to help them bring a nourishing meal to those in need… this new tradition is about helping our community, something that owners Chris and Tony are dedicated to doing by operating their dream business. They are asking us to bring a non-perishable food item every time we visit their taproom, these items can be:
- Canned Food
- Mac and Cheese
- PB and J
- Dry Pasta
- Pasta Sauce
- Rice
- Condiments
- Personal care items
These items will be delivered by the brewery to charities such as Reach Out Lakota and other local organizations that work extremely hard to help those in need.
The benefit to you…
I shouldn’t need give you another benefit other than helping those who need help, but there is a plus to all this: For every 100 pounds of food or donated items each weekend they will knock off $1 from growler fills and glassware. When the total hits 200 pounds for the weekend, they’ll knock of $1 for pints. This resets and repeats each week… so give what you can give, as much as you can give it!
