I won’t dig into what it means to open a second location dedicated to the culture of creativity, creation, and innovation quite yet – because it deserves a lot of time dedicated to it exclusively, but I will fill you in on what’s happening with the former Ei8ht Ball space at The Party Source.
The news came strong, and fast for a lot of craft beer fans in Cincinnati – first that Ei8ht Ball was closing, and that an undisclosed craft brewery was looking at the space. It was followed up a couple months later with the word that it was Braxton, that they were going to change the space into what they are calling ‘Braxton Labs’ a space dedicated to innovation. We’re going to be learning a lot more about what that means as the space starts doing it’s thing here in town – rest assured this isn’t as simple as moving a pilot system to a different building, it’s a much bigger concept.
The Grand Opening
There isn’t much time for you to plan – they’re rolling out the new space next week. That’s right, Cincinnati – mark your calendar now, May 26th from 5-11pm, they’ll be slinging their core and seasonal styles, as well as a few new ones from the innovation team as well as some fantastic guest taps that are still to be revealed in the coming week.
On tap for your drinking pleasure from the innovation team:
- Braxton Labs – NE IPA
- Braxton Labs – Coffee Vanilla Milk Stout
- Braxton Labs – Cherry Saison
Also – if you are one of the first 100 people to order one of these Braxton Labs exclusive beers, you’ll also get to keep your glass.
As for the “regular old” Braxton stuff, they’ll at least be pouring these guys:
- Storm
- Revamp
- Twisted Bit
- Dead Blow
- Kickback Hard Cider
- Summertrip
There will also be music from the Kentucky Struts, Food from Cheese n Chong – because at the end of the day, this is still Braxton Brewing company after all!
Want To Know More?
I promise that as soon as I get a chance to get over to The Labs and get some photos, and talk to some people I’ll have a full write up about what all this means for Braxton as well as Cincy beer… luckily for you, if you can’t wait for the write up, you can tune in to Cincy Brewcast live on Facebook next Thursday night at 6ish for an exclusive peek at what they’ve got going on.
Still want to know more? There are lots of social media spots for you to follow! The Labs are on Facebook, Twitter, and Untappd as a verified venue.
