It seems so hard to believe, but one of this city’s favorite “newbies” is turning one this weekend. Streetside Brewery is gearing up for a big birthday bash that will honor their first year in business with exactly what makes them so awesome – Beer.
I’ll give you a few reasons that you are going to want to be in attendance, but for now – just know that you need to be ready for this Saturday, 9/30/17.
Release The Demogorgon!
I’m not sure if you remember back to our first episode of Cincy Brewcast that was live from Streetside, but one of my favorite parts of the show was when Garrett and Luke ventured into the depths of their brewery to retrieve the first samples of their imperial stout from a bourbon barrel (spoiler… it was tasting delicious)
The imperial stout, called ‘Where’s Barb” (if you’re a stranger things fan you might recognize the reference) was tucked away in Heaven Hill barrels (without the cherry addition that you’ll remember from the original) for almost the whole year that the brewery has been open. While the beer started off it’s life at 12.1%, once it’s barrel life was complete it clocks in at a big 13.3% abv.
To unleash this beer, which has been called the Demogorgon, the brewery has put together their first ever bottle release. The beer has been packaged in 22oz bombers, which have been wax sealed with bright red wax to help facilitate cellaring for years to come. The bottles will release at 10am for $13 each, and lucky for anyone coming, they have decided that there is no limit on the 546 available bottles.
I can’t wait to give this beer a try (it will be on tap too) and see how some time has changed it since our little ‘sneak peek’.
More Specialty Tappings
If the Demogorgon doesn’t get your blood pumping, they’re going to have a ton of other stuff pouring too. It all kicks off with a delicous rainbow of beers from Streetside, and is followed up with a list of guest taps that will rival any party you’ve dreamt about. Keep in mind, these taps are in addition to the regular tap list from Streetside:
Streetside Special Taps
- Blackberry, Blueberry, Raspberry Berliner Weisse
- Cherry Gose
- Demogorgon
- Dragonfruit & Passionfruit Berliner Weisse
- Lassi Gose with Pink Guava
- I Drink Your Milkshake
- Rum Barrel Aged Thique
- Where’s Barb – 2016
Guest Taps
- Urban Artifact – Anaglyph – Banana Milkshake Midwest Fruit Tart Ale
- Against The Grain – Citra Ass Down – IPA
- Spencer Trappist – Feierabendbier – Pilsner
- Cascade – Fuzzy Navel – American Wild Ale with Orange Peels

- Mt Carmel – Stout
- DogBerry – Three Bagger – Triple IPA
- Urban Artifact and Sam Adams – Tricorne – NE IPA with Paw Paw
- The Lackman – Verde Sangria
Food, And Music
Beer alone makes for a pretty great party in my book – but it doesn’t make for an anniversary celebration. You need some food and some entertainment to go along with it. The brewery is setting up an outdoor beer garden to create the space where food trucks and live music will fill the void all day. Kicking off at noon you’ll find food from:
- Sea Cuisine
- Lecreparis
- Empanadas Aqui
And the tunes will be provided by:
- Ben Levin & The Heaters
- Red Idle Rejects
All in all, this seems like it’s going to be an awesome party – especially if you get there early to line up for the bottle release – all sorts of fun stuff tends to happen in bottle release lines…
Aaaaaand – maybe if you’re lucky you catch some of the live recording of the latest episode of Cincy Brewcast at noon – maybe…
