This dark farmhouse ale was brewed by local women in the Cincinnati community. It has been spiced with cardamom, black pepper and cocoa nibs to add a unique, one of a kind brew. Proceeds of this beer will be donated to Women Helping Women.
For the second year in a row, Listermann Brewing Company used International Women’s Day to showcase some of the strong females in the Cincinnati beer community. These ladies came together to not only brew a beer at the brewery, but to provide an event that could raise some money for Women Helping Women.
The label artwork was done by LemonGrenade Creative with Kacie Coy providing the concept art. Kacie said about the design:
The design’s intent is to follow Listermann’s original theme of recognizing strong women. One of the most powerful things women can do is deviate from the norms our culture expects from us. I wanted to design a label that would provide a historical and metaphorical message. The ‘bra burning’ Miss America protest of 1968, which didn’t result in fire due to Atlantic City Boardwalk rules, was a strategy coined from draft card burning protests to promote women’s liberation. By breaking free of expectations and restrictions based on gender, we can pursue happiness and live our lives like the symbolism behind Lady Liberty.
The beer was first released in bottles on International Women’s Day 2018, which took place on 3/8/18.
