It’s easy to make your first-anniversary celebration all about you. It’s especially easy to do that when you’ve got as many great things going for you as Fairfax’s Karrikin Brewery/Distillery does. However the folks at Karrikin are turning their big celebration into something much bigger by partnering up with The Dragonfly Foundation – but I’m getting ahead of myself here, let’s take it slow.

All About Karrikin

I encourage you to read a little bit more about Karrkin here on the website if you don’t know about them already. You can, of course, also head over to their website too where they’ll tell you a little bit about who they are and what they do.

If you’re interested in a ‘Cliff’s Notes’ version of what this place is all about, I can give you a quick rundown.

Karrikin is a big idea. Not satisfied just creating one product, these folks are trying to dive into every part of your palate, from beer to spirits, to a really fantastic restaurant, too. It’s a great place if you enjoy taste-excitement. They’re making some really unique products that you won’t find anywhere else in Cincinnati, and making some staples that are earning a spot on bars all across town, commercial and home-bars alike.

The Celebration

As Karrikin wraps up an amazing first year in business, they’re throwing a party so that we… the drinkers… can help them celebrate in style. It all kicks off at 11 am on Saturday, December 7th and goes until they close that night. For the hungry, they invited some of this city’s most beloved chefs to bring you special dishes to keep your stomach happy.

For the thirsty? You’ll be happy to hear that they’ll be serving up specialty handcrafted cocktails alongside some of their past favorites, delicious craft beer from not just Karrikin, but from some other popular local breweries – and of course, a variety of their sparkling spirits that will be released throughout the day:

  • 4 pm: Peach Hibiscus
  • 5 pm: Raspberry Rhubarb + Ora
  • 6 pm: Rosie Red
  • 7 pm: Chile Key Lime
  • 8 pm: Watermelon Ginger + Blaze
  • 9 pm: SPECIAL NEW RELEASE

To keep things hoppin’ all night, there will also be live music from Cincinnati’s gypsy jazz band, The Burning Caravan from 6 pm-11 pm.

Giving Back

If an amazing celebration isn’t enough, they are using the chance to take a packed house and use it to give back too. The distillery is partnering up with The Dragonfly Foundation to create a fundraiser to help raise money and awareness for pediatric cancer and bone marrow transplant patients and their families. 20% of all proceeds from guests who use a flyer available online here will go right to the foundation.

It’s a perfect chance to know that you’re doing some amount of good while you get your drink on.
