When people have asked me, historically, what I consider “Cincinnati” when it comes to who I write about, I always have a very loose and arbitrary definition. I would love to write about Dayton, and it’s breweries more often (and it’s definitely in the longer term plans for this website) but as it stands, I spend far too much time just desperately trying to keep up with what I currently write about.

However – with all that being said – I love Warped Wing, and I couldn’t resist sharing the latest update on their new Springboro facility, which they’ve dubbed the Barrel Room & Smokery. At around 35 miles from Downton Cincy… I can pretty easily justify a little line blurring here. You do know what I’m talking about, right? Let’s talk…

What’s The Barrel Room & Smokery?

Let’s start easy, just in case you haven’t been paying attention. This is Warped Wing’s second facility, a unique barrel-aging facility, restaurant and test pilot brewery that they’ve built in the new Wright Station development in the heart of downtown Springboro, located at the intersection of State Routes 741 and 73.

The facility is 20,000 square feet and features a huge taproom with an outdoor biergarten and a flexible event space. The rest of the facility will be dedicated to aging more than 400 barrels as well as housing a small brewery and a big distribution hub for Warped Wing.

One Of A Kind Experiences

If you’re looking for something a little more unique, they’re also going to provide an incredible experience for those of you who want a little deeper dive into the Warped Wing experience. Special programs are being developed such as their Barrel Club Reserve membership, which allows members to get up-close, hands-on tour experiences, exclusive tastings, and first offering purchases of rare and limited bottles.

You’ve tried some of their barrel-aged beers, right? Whiskey Rebellion, anyone?

The Food Side

Don’t forget the smokery side of this project, too. The restaurant which is run by Culinary Director Erin O’Neill brings an innovative, eclectic menu to a project that is already designed to showcase innovation. Obviously smoked meat and food items will be a star, and many of the dishes will feature Warped Wing beers as ingredients.

A selection of cider, wine, sprits, cocktails and sodas will round things out for those looking for additional options.

The Opening

Saturday, August 29th it opens it’s doors to the public and they’ll head into normal operation with these hours:

Mon-Thurs 11am – 10pm
Fri & Sat 11am – 12am (10pm curfew per COVID Public Health Regulations)
Sun 11am – 10pm

Go – support these guys! They’re doing some awesome stuff!
