Brewery – HighGrain
Beer – Oost
Style – Belgian Style Golden Strong Ale
ABV – 10.1%

Blonde, Vibrant, Dry. Devilishly simple, with a stealthy breakout punch. Will leave your taste buds fruity, body warm with a smooth finish.

This beer is a deceptive treat… and seems to be designed for not only the cold, but sunny winter days that dominate Cincinnati – but for spending an evening in the HighGrain brewpub, eating some fantastic food alongside it.

The beer was first released in cans on 10/24/2020 in 12oz cans, and the timing could have been better for the cooling weather outside.

My Thoughts on Highgrain Oost

The brewery nails the description on this one. It’s deceptive.

In the glass, the beer is a light, golden yellow/orange with a fluffy white head on top. It looks like a nice light treat for a summer afternoon.

As soon as you dig your nose into your glass, though, you know that something else is awaiting you. The fruity, spicy notes fill the air above the beer.

When you dive in, you’re hit with big fruit flavors—banana and pears—which lead into a nice breadiness and a sharp spicy note that almost punctuates the story you’re now fully engaged in.

So, so tasty.
