Smooth, easy, nice entry level beer that pairs well with food.

We’ve heard it over, and over again. When you’re a brewery you have to have some sort of beer that you put on tap for the folks who really want a big macro beer. That was what this beer was really supposed to be when Municipal first put it on tap at their grand opening back in 2016.

I’m not sure that they had any idea of how popular that beer would become in the following years. It was one of the first beers that they put into cans in 2019 – and it still to this day reins as one of their most popular offerings.

If you don’t believe the folks who drink it day to day, and you don’t believe me, maybe the fact that it’s won medals at everything from the Ohio Craft Brewer’s cup, to the US Open Beer Championship (you can see all of Cincinnati’s beer awards over here).

My Thoughts On Municipal Brew Works Approachable Blonde

Approachable Blonde is light, bright yellow with a beautiful white head on top of the beer.

Aromas sing with a touch of fruitiness, but still holds steady in the “clean” and crisp category.

When you taste the beer, it’s got a surprisingly fuller body than you expect looking at it. Citrus notes swirl in the background with grapefruit and lemon hitting hard and fast against a cracker backbone.

This beer is near perfect for that easy drinking, light, and for lack of a better word… approachable beer.
