March First is prepping for their fifth anniversary with a celebration that wraps a little bit of everything into a massive weekend that I think you’re really gonna dig. Let’s put it this way – if you’ve missed any of their big festivals this year (Seltzer Smash, Proofed, Ciderpalooza, Stout Blowout) they are putting together a group of events, all squeezed into one weekend that will help you out.
That’s right – every single day is a different “mini-festival” that showcases a different side of their personality.
There’s a lot to cover here, so I think it’s best if we take this one day at a time…
Friday, February 25th
On Friday, the distillery side of the March First family gets to shine. They’re going to showcase Cincinnati Distilling with special tastings, cocktails and all sorts of fun starting at 6pm.
Saturday, February 26th
This is a big one. It’s Ciderpalooza day. This is the biggest festival that March First throws every year, and so this day is going to be epic, also. They’re gonna be tapping five different special cider releases including Bananas Foster, Maple Bourbon and a few more. In addition to the regular food that you’ve come to expect from March First, their Culinary Director Bhumin Desai is also putting together a pig roast. The event goes all day, but the pig roast starts serving at 3pm.
Sunday, February 27th
Love it or hate it… Seltzer is here to stay. In the case of March First – it’s sort of exploded, in fact. Seltzer Smash is a big deal to them… just like their smash hit seltzer brand, Astra. They’re gonna let loose on some never-before-seen flavors that you fizzheads are gonna flip over. Birthday Cake, Rainbow Sherbet… do I have your attention, yet? If that’s not enough, the brewery is also releasing six-packs of their Crush orange soda flavored seltzer for the first time, too.
Monday, February 28th
Monday, we drink stouts. It’s Stout Blowout day at March First. They’ll be tapping Zebra Cake, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Bourbon Orange, and Chickory Coffee versions for all the stout lovers to lose their shit over.
Tuesday, March First
It’s all been building to this, anniversary day. March First and Cincinnati Distilling will be releasing a special bottle of bourbon that was finished in barrels used to age their Baltic Porter – a limited amount of the bottles will feature the fifth-anniversary logo to commemorate, too. This bourbon is spectacular, and you won’t wanna miss snagging a bottle to put behind your home bar.
I am thrilled to see March First today and to look back at how much they have grown in the last five years. The world around them has changed dramatically, and they have done a great job of changing with it. It’s incredible to think about where they (and all of us) might have to look forward to after the next five and beyond.
I think that if you aren’t familiar with March First by now, there are few ways that would be better to get to know them, and the many, many different sides of their personality. Don’t miss out on this anniversary celebration!
