If you’re one of the many extremely talented homebrewers here in Cincinnati, you’ll wanna make sure you’re listening on this one because the Sam Adams Cincinnati taproom is getting together with ‘People Working Cooperatively’ to host a homebrew competition. If you win, your beer will go on tap in the taproom this summer and the glory and praise will rain upon you.
About The Charity
People Working Cooperatively is a non-profit that was incorporated back in 1975. They’ve been working to serve low-income, elderly and disabled homeowners in 21 counties of southwest Ohio, Dayton, Northern Kentucky, and southeastern Indiana ever since then. They have a mission to strengthen communities by providing professional, critical home repair, weatherization, and modification services to help folks stay in their homes… safely.
In the last 46 years their staff of licensed, trained employees and a dedicated corps of 3,000 volunteers have assisted more than 320,000 individuals.
They do good stuff, and this is a great opportunity for us to help them out in the best way we can – by drinking some beers!
The Event
Each beer that you want to enter into the event will require a $150 registration fee – which will include a $50 stipend for brewing supplies as well as entry for up to five team members to the kickoff party event on 3/13 at the Sam Adams Cincinnati taproom.
At the kickoff event, attendees will get the opportunity to meet with Sam Adam’s Cincinnati’s head brewer Chris Siegman and to tour the taproom’s brewery facility.
Registration is open, and it will remain that way until 3/13 over here – so if you’re wanting to take part, make sure you get your registration in as soon as possible. You can submit as many entries as you want, but each one will require its own registration. Your beer needs to be done and submitted by May 30th, and the winner of the contest will brew their recipe with Chris Siegman, and it’ll hit the taps for the Boards & Brews main event that will happen on 8/7/22.
Probably most importantly about all of this is that all proceeds from the competition will benefit the programs and mission of People Working Cooperatively. If you want to know more about them, you can visit their website to learn more.
