Urban Artifact has long been a proponent of pushing things in the direction of what they know is right. Furthering the craft beer community is about a lot more than just making great beer, it’s welcoming in folks that haven’t always felt that it was their community. It’s one of the things that really made me fall in love with them in the first place, they put themselves out there and aren’t afraid to be loud about what they believe in.

This series is a great example of that, it’s called ‘Signal Boost’ and it’s an entire day dedicated to celebrating women and helping to amplify their voices.

The event takes place on Saturday, March 26th and it will feature four main events that day:

  • From 12pm-4pm a beer and food pairing, featuring Eat Well, a local WBENC certified woman-owned company (only while supplies last).
  • From 6pm-8pm a spoken word open mic, hosted by Siri Imani.
  • 8:30pm-Close a dance party with DJ Queen Celine.

All day long, they’re going to host a donation drive, too. They’re looking for diapers (size 3-6) and training pants (all sizes).

The brewery will also be donating a dollar from every draft pour sold that day to two different non-profit organizations:

  • Women Helping Women – This group helps to prevent gender-based violence and empowers all survivors. They provide evidence-based prevention and expert crisis intervention and support services for survivors of dating violence, sexual violence, domestic violence and stalking in Hamilton and Butler counties in Ohio as well as sexual violence crisis services to Brown and Adams Counties in Ohio.
  • Rosemary’s Babies – With a mission to help teen parents master the concepts of self-leadership to leave a legacy, Rosemary’s Babies aims to be a nationwide support system with a network of resources in states with a high population of teen parents.

Show your support, go out and drink a beer or three… and show Urban that you love what they’re doing! For more on Urban Artifact, you can read about them here on the blog, or head over to their social media.
