I was a tad bit critical when I checked out last year’s ‘Cincy Seltzer Fest’ at the Fowling Warehouse… I was expecting a little more Cincinnati Seltzer. I wasn’t the only one that had that thought about it, too. Lucky for us the organizers over at the Fowling Warehouse have been listening, and this year’s festival looks like it’s going to knock it out of the park.

What The Heck Is A Seltzer Festival?

You’ve been to beer festivals before, right? I can only assume if you’re a regular reader of this blog that the answer to that is a resounding ‘yes’. If you’re new to this world, though – I can help paint the picture. A festival gives drinkers the chance to walk around with their friends and try a bunch of different things that they might not get to otherwise. Small tastes let you load up on variety.

Beer festivals have been super popular for years and with the recent rise of seltzer in the craft industry, it was only a matter of time before someone thought of the idea… Why not create this same experience for fizzheads? (That’s the term I use for folks who drink a TON of seltzer).

Fowling Warehouse heard the call, stepped up, and put it together.

Last Year…

Last Year’s festival was a huge hit. Even with my criticisms, I had a really, really great time checking out the festival (full disclosure, I didn’t buy my tickets, Fowling Warehouse invited me to come check it out) but the festival was planned and organized heavily by distributors, which mean that their big brands were the ones represented.

The bones were all there. The festival had plenty of space for drinkers, a great activity (Fowling), food options… it just needed a better variety of seltzer brands to fit what I would want as a seltzer drinker.

This Year’s Festival

As I mentioned earlier, the Fowling Warehouse was definitely paying attention. This year the very first thing that they focused on was the seltzer itself. It’s the star of the show. They reached out to all the local brands that you love to try to make sure that they were all going to be represented… this year you’ll see the best of the best in Cincy Seltzer.

They’re going to have more than 100 different seltzers represented, and to make sure that you have plenty of time to check them all out they’re extending each session to four hours – and holding three different sessions over two different days.

5$ from every ticket will be going to the Pink Ribbon Girls, who are volunteering at the event – so you can rest assured that you’re doing some good while you’re sipping away.

The Tickets

Tickets are still available if this sounds like something you’d like to check out. You can head over to Cincy Ticket to grab yours.

As I mentioned earlier, there are three different sessions to choose from. Every ticket includes 12 sample tickets, two full cans of seltzer, and access to open fowling all during the event. There are VIP tickets that include access to your own table and a private Fowling lane, too.

My Takeaway

It’s no secret that I’ve had a strange relationship with hard seltzer over the years. A lot of us have. We’re in a world now, though, that has a massive range of products available. There are really fun things that are happening in the space and if you are a drinker it only makes sense to at least pay attention to it.

You may not find yourself amongst the fizzheads after an event like this… you may still have the strange relationship with seltzer that you always did. I’m certain, though, that you’ll have tried something that you enjoyed.

I’ll see you there!
