I’m a sucker for a good beer dinner. Seriously. I’m a big-time sucker. I love these things. I can’t help but assume that you realize how much I love beer at this point. The obsession has led to the creation of this website, after all. There is something incredible, though, when you find a food pairing that not only tastes great but changes the experience of what you’re eating and drinking, too.

Now, imagine that happy experience spread out over an entire evening of food and drink pairings. You understand the love that I’m speaking about, right?

One of our city’s favorite brewpubs, HighGrain, clearly understands the role the food can play in improving your beer experience, and they’re kicking it up a notch or seven this month with a beer dinner that I absolutely had to share with you.

Oh… and they’re bringing Bhramari in to make it even better.

Who’s Bhramari?

I don’t think that I need to tell you about these folks. Even if they are located in Asheville, NC, they have been doing such an incredible job since they opened their doors in 2016 that I’m sure you’ve at least heard of them. Their dedication to food as much as the beer that they brew has been so outstanding that the rumbles of what they do spreads even as far as here in Cincinnati (and I’m sure much farther).

Their culinary-inspired, culturally infused personality is something that resonates deeply with our beer scene here in Cincy… and every time their beer hits a shelf or a tap around town, people go nuts. It’s for good reason, too… it’s fantastic. The food, the beer, the people… all of it fits into place perfectly.

It was just a couple of months ago, this summer that Bhramari opened up their second taproom, this one in Charlotte – and I’d be a terrible beer blogger if I didn’t tell you that you’d be crazy to not visit either one of their spots if you find yourself close by.

But for now… let’s talk about this beer dinner.

The Bhramari/HighGrain Beer Dinner

On August 25th at 5 pm the two breweries are teaming up for a culinary experience that is gonna be insane. Insane in a very good way, that is.

The four-course dinner includes a welcome beer and amuse-bouche (I had to look it up, that’s the little tiny bite-sized appetizer-like food that comes before dinner. It literally means amuse the mouth). Then, at six o’clock, the real fun starts. Four courses, each paired up with 10oz tasters of different beers – including the debut of Bhramari and HighGrain’s collaboration called “Gravity Socks”, a Triple Dry-Hopped Triple IPA.

The Menu:

Amuse Bouche – Cuban Croquette and Watermelon Gazpacho paired up with Lusen Pilsner
First Course – Ceviche with Gravity Socks Triple Dry Hopped, Triple IPA
Second Course – Rueben Tar-Tare with Grimminator Rye Barrel Aged Doppelbock
Third Course – Venison Filet Oscar with Wednesday Morning Barrel-Aged American Sour with Muscadine Grapes
Fourth Course – Blonde Ice Cream Sandwich w/Boost Caramel paired up with Boost Barrel-Aged Belgian Golden Strong Ale

How To Attend

Here’s the easy part. Tickets are $99, including tax and gratuity. You can head over to HighGrain’s website to get your tickets – and if you haven’t put it together, yet… you should definitely make sure that you do!
