I love the Ohio Craft Brewer’s Association. They do an incredible job at supporting not just our local breweries here in Cincinnati, but craft breweries all across the state. Whenever I get the chance to support the organization through its fundraising efforts – I do whatever I can to make it happen. Ohio Pint Day just so happens to be one of the easiest ways to do that every year.

What IS Ohio Pint Day?

Ohio Pint Day started in 2020 as a way to get out to your local spots, get a cool collectible glass and help raise some cash for the trade organization. This year there are more than 180 different breweries participating all across the state. It’s massive. There will be more than 13,000 glasses available on Tuesday, September 27th… and just in case you needed another excuse to go grab a beer at one of your local breweries (or several of them) it’s a great chance to do just that.

For each glass sold, $1 will be donated to the Ohio Craft Brewer’s Association, the non-profit trade organization that represents and advocates for Ohio’s independently-owned craft breweries.

About This Year’s Glass

This year’s collectible pint glass features artwork from Juan Vergara – whose artwork can also be seen lining the walls of his own brewery Pulpo Beer Company in Willoughby. When the OCBA saw his work, they knew that they wanted to hire him to do the design of this year’s glass.

Vergara says that the inspiration behind the design is “Solidarity” – after the struggles that the industry has faced over the last couple of years he wanted to pay homage to the solidarity that folks have shown during it all. It’s an idea that I know we can all get behind.

Celebrating In Cincinnati

You can find a full list of participating breweries over on the OCBA website – but I wanted to make sure that you knew where you could go here in Cincinnati to get your glass! Starting on Tuesday 9/27 you’ll be able to visit these taprooms (while supplies last… there’s no guarantee how long that will be!)
