The folks at Urban Artifact know how to do things by the beat of their own drum. It’s one of the things that I absolutely love about them. I’ll never forget hearing people talk about them before they opened their doors. People would say that a sour-only brewery couldn’t survive in a city like Cincinnati. People said that Urban would be forced to close its doors before it even had a chance to get things really rolling.

The joke’s on them, I guess?

Not only is Urban Artifact going as strong as ever, but they’re also putting themselves in the wild position to be one of the widest-distributed breweries in Cincinnati’s history. They aren’t slowing down – and that makes me feel like a proud parent watching from my barstool.

21 States? 2 Countries?

At the front and center of their continued growth is their distribution footprint. They now, after just adding West Virginia, distribute their beer to 21 different states across the country. They accomplish this by partnering up with at least 24 different distributors to make sure bars and bottle shops have a chance to carry their products.

If that’s not enough for you – they also direct ship their beer to 9 different states and also the District of Columbia. You can literally jump on their online store and the beer will arrive right on your doorstep.

To top it all off, they also recently announced that their beer was actually available in France. Yeah… that’s in Europe. This takes them into a new category that not many places get to experience. You can now find their beer in:

  • Alabama
  • Colorado
  • Florida
  • Illinois
  • Indiana
  • Iowa
  • Kentucky
  • Massachusetts
  • Michigan
  • Minnesota
  • Mississippi
  • New Hampshire
  • North Carolina
  • Ohio
  • Oregon
  • Pennsylvania
  • Rhode Island
  • South Carolina
  • Tennessee
  • West Virginia
  • Wisconsin
  • France

What You Should Be Drinking From Them Right Now

I assume that if you’re a regular reader of this website, you’re not a stranger to Urban Artifact and what they brew. For the sake of an argument, though – we’ll go ahead and just assume that you’re from outer space and have never heard of these guys.

On the surface, it’s easy just to say that they brew fruited sour beer. But that’s not really the whole story, is it? They created their own beer style that they dubbed the “fruit tart” – with that they now make a whole lineup of fruited, tart beer that spans everything from light crushable fruit tarts, to heavily fruited beasts called Midwest Fruit Tarts. In fact, if you just look at their core beer lineup right now it’ll give you a really wild peek into what makes them who they are.

Teak – is a super tasty, tropical American Fruit Tart
Gadget – Blackberry/Raspberry Midwest Fruit Tart
Peaches & Cream – Peach Nitro Fruit Tart
Spyglass – Lemon-Lime Fruit Tart
Pickle – Cucumber & Dill Ale

Talk about a wild, fun lineup of beer that is packed full of personality. That isn’t even taking a peek at any of their special releases, either. The point is simple. Drink Urban Artifact beer when you get the chance. We are extremely lucky to have them here in Cincinnati and you really won’t find many places in the country that are comparable to them. If you want to know more about them, you can always read the latest here on the website – or you can visit them over on their website, or follow them on social media.
