I’m not sure how the craft brewing industry first got tied in with our love for mans best friend – but it seems that almost wherever you go, if you find yourself a craft brewery, you’ll find people hanging out with their dogs. This is pretty true here in Cincinnati, too – with a large amount of our local breweries welcoming your pups with open arms inside their taprooms. This relationship between breweries and beer is what makes this charity event so perfect for the craft beer community.
Pours For Paws
Pours for Paws is an event geared at giving back to participating pet rescues, shelters and charities. The 3 day beer wine and bourbon charity pet festival takes place this next weekend (August 11th-13th) at the Highlander Event Center (Located at 90 Alexandria Pike in Ft. Thomas). The festival will feature samples of some of the best local beer, wine and bourbons from Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky while changing animal’s lives for the better.
100% of the events profits will go right back to supporting animals through charities, shelters and pet rescues – something I know we can all get behind!
Your ticket includes 15 drink tickets, and 1 free bottle of Whisper Pet Odor Elimination Spray (Whisper is putting the event on) – When you purchase your ticket, you get to choose which charity you want your money directed to:
- Adore-A-Bull Rescue
- Cincinnati Chapter of The National Canine Cancer Foundation
- Lucky Tales Rescue
- Myles Ahead Animal Sanctuary and Rescue
- Pets for Patients
- SPCA Cincinnati
- United Pet Fund
Of course… the event itself is pet free as well – so bring your buddy to hang out and drink with you!
Who’s Pouring?
There will be plenty to drink, even if you’re with someone who doesn’t necessarily want a beer. But… you should have a beer or two regardless. Local breweries that will be represented:
- Rhinegeist
- Mt. Carmel
- Braxton
- Bad Tom Smith
- Christian Moerlein
- Wooden Cask
There are also a few other regional and national brands that you’ll find at the event, as well as some wine and bourbon, like I said… if beer isn’t your thing.
