An All-American Amber, deep rust in color, very approachable, and gets a touch of sweetness from chocolate malt.

This beer was one of the three new core beers when 16 Lots rebranded and refreshed its lineup in 2021, released in 12oz cans alongside The Major and Soak City. It’s an amber ale that will certainly draw the attention of “less adventurous” craft beer drinkers – but I think it’ll make the nerds pretty happy as well.

The name of the beer pays homage to a long-standing bar in Mason called the Dented Silo, which was demolished to make way for new development back in 2004.

This beer sits right in the middle ground of what drinkers are looking for. It’s got a solid, malty-sweet body to it, with just enough hop presence to balance it out. It’s a great example of a beer that is super drinkable while pairing up perfectly with food!

My Thoughts on 16 Lots Dented Silo

In the glass, Dented Silo pours a rich red color with a foamy tan head on top.

Aromas are bready, sweet, and caramelly.

The taste is really well balanced. It starts out malty and bready and then immediately gets held back by a nice spicy hop note that reins it back in. I really like this one as a good, everyday drinker – or one that fills my glass at the dinner table.
