All About Streetside
Streetside was opened in Columbia Tusculum by the Hickey family in 2016 with the goal of creating a neighborhood brewery that filled the void for close knit neighborhood pub type places in the area. It became quickly apparent that these guys weren’t messing around with the beer, though – and they quickly gained a rabid following for their eclectic tap lineup. The brewery isn’t the biggest in town – but they definitely keep turning heads by towing the line between solid traditional styles and more modern “trendy” beers that get the geeks all excited-like.
What’s Streetside Like?
The brewery has a taproom in the front that overlooks a two story brewery behind it. The no-frills taproom is warm and comfortable and sits right in that line in between warehouse-like spaces and small bar-like taprooms.
The taps are always pouring a massive variety of beers, with really great traditional styles and some really amazing NE IPAs and fruited Berliners right next to them. The brewery has even gained quite the following surrounding their big, barrel-aged stout that is lovingly called ‘The Demogorgon‘ – what it comes down to is that no matter the style you enjoy… chances are they’ve done it, and they’ve done it well.
