How better to spend a Saturday afternoon than drinking a cold beer or two? The only way I know to make it better is to do it in a taproom. Christian Moerlein has devised a great plan to get you in theirs this weekend for a beer or three, and you might remember it from the last couple of years, it’s called Super Firkin Saturday.
The party is put on to promote innovation, experimentation and all things local in craft beer, and it’s one that you’re not going to want to skip if those sound like things you like.
About The Event
The party takes place in the Christian Moerlein Malt House taproom (that’s the place at 1621 Moore Street) from 1 pm until 5 pm. The brewery invited some of their friends from around Cincinnati to take part in creating some really fun special beers and infusions to share via Firkins (you remember what a firkin is, right?)
Entry into the event is free, and you can get 5oz sample tickets at 5 for $10, so if you want to try a whole bunch of stuff… you can! The taproom will be open just like normal, so if you get all “firkin’d out” before the end of the night, and just want to grab one of your trusty stand-by’s no one is going to judge you.
If you get hungry, as usual, Wienerwurst Mike’s Frankfurtary will be open for business and you can grab some food there to hold you over.
But, What About The Beers?
There should be some really fun stuff on tap this weekend. When I said that some of Moerlein’s local friends would be on hand, I wasn’t kidding! They’ll be slinging beers from:
- MadTree
- Braxton
- Fifty West
- Mt. Carmel
- Listermann
- The Woodburn Brewery
- Streetside
- Nine Giant
- Urban Artifact
The specifics haven’t been announced yet: but if I know any of these breweries, I know that there will be some really fun things on hand! If I get my hands on a beer list before the event, I’ll be sure to post it here for you!
