This malty yet sneakily smooth Robust Porter simmers with tones of milk chocolate, carob and light molasses. Panther is a svelte creature of the night – a midnight malt whisperer.

They call this one a “Robust Porter” and robust is certainly a great descriptor.  Panther pours a beautiful dark brown, with a nice big tan head on it.  You get aromas of caramel and chocolate when you put your nose over it, along with a nice background of roasty coffee.

The taste is all porter… big and roasty…thick and malty, but Panther is extremely drinkable like much of Rhinegeist’s beers.  This is a wonderful fall/winter beer, one that is fit to a cold night, with a warm fire.

For someone like me, who has always had a soft spot for a nice, dark porter or stout, this beer is a staple in my fridge this time of year.  Panther is a goto when I need a big flavored beer to satisfy my craving for chocolatey goodness.
