I stumbled across this goody this week, and wanted to share it with you all. If you were a fan of last year’s “crowd sourced” IPA from Rhinegeist (it was really delicious btw) you’ll be happy to see this! The can label reads:
A crowdsourced Rye IPA dry hopped with Citra and Mosaic hops that race across your palate in a lively, yet intimate and wildly exposed jaunt – flaunting tropical fruit, dank, pineapple, and mango aromatic acrobatics.
It clocks in at 6% ABV with 60 IBUs and if I pull my tasting notes from last summer I can tell you that the beer was everything that is promised here and more. I noted a wonderful smooth sweetness that has lots of tangerine and grapefruit flavors, backed up by an underlying earthiness that reminds me of a fall afternoon.
Last years beer was released at the end of June, and was so well received that it only makes sense for the brewery to roll it out again. The jump to cans instead of 22oz rarity bottles, though, came as a surprise to me!
UPDATE – once this post went live, I got word from Rhinegeist that no only is this coming, it’s been brewed, and put into cans yesterday! The beer is most definitely making its way to a shelf near you, so start clearing a spot in your beer fridge!!!
