We’re getting ready to head into the busiest week that this blog sees all year – After taking a deep breath, I’m ready to dive into 2017’s Cincy Beer Week head on, though.

What better way to do it than with Arnold’s?  They’re one of the best examples of a craft beer bar here in Cincinnati, and in turn, they do things up big time for Beer Week every year.  Not one to do things in any normal way, though… the bar has decided to take the opportunity to mix the creativity of brewers with that of artists for the third year in a row.

Five different breweries have commissioned some of the best artists and graphic designers in the area to re-imagine of their beers as a brand new work of art.  Each piece will then be created into 50 limited edition, signed and numbered, hand pulled, screen prints.

Tuesday 6/20 – Woodburn

Lightning Horse Industries has taken the opportunity to reimagine the artwork for Woodburn’s Hammer Session IPA. They’ll be tapping Cucumber Watermelon Wheat to celebrate the event at 6pm.  Lightning Horse Industries says:

Looking good doesn’t require an agency or a huge firm.  They’re a group of friends who want to share the vision for brands and pay attention to the details.  They’re from the Midwest and say that they love art, greasy food, and Cincinnati.  They never cut their sandwiches in half and never look back.  They can skateboard, but they can’t do any tricks.  In high school they won a battle of the bands.

Wednesday 6/21 – Jackie O’s

Keith Neltner is no stranger to the Cincinnati Beer world, but he’s taken this opportunity to reimagine Jackie O’s.  They’re tapping the fantastic Jackie O’s Berliner Weisse to celebrate the event at 6pm.

Keith Neltner has created the complete album artwork for several bands like Hank Williams III, Justin Townes Earle, Bad Veins and Willie Nelson.  You might recognize his work from the giant mural he painted with Artworks in the Brewery District, or from the branding work he has done for Halfcut, Braxton Brewing and Arnold’s Bar and Grill.

Thursday 6/22 – Braxton

Braxton Brewing Company’s beer is being given a new look by We Have Become Vikings and at 6pm they’ll be tapping their Revamp and Chill! Cherry Saison to celebrate.  About We Have Become Vikings:

We have Become Vikings is a group of rebels, rockers, thinkers and makers combining strategy and design to help clients tell stories through any means possible, a true creative shop.  We Have Become Vikings moves across all media channels that best serve design problems and creates culture through innovation and work.  They combine ideation with design thinking to create a unique amazement and wonder that exceeds expectations.

Friday 6/23 – Listermann

Listermann Brewing Company is getting an awesome homage to Dan Listermann himself from Brian Methe and they’re tapping Don’t Talk Shit About Norwood alongside Sabotage NE IPA at 6pm.  About Brian Methe:

Bryant has designed official gig posters for bands like Arcade Fire, Wilco, The National, Fiona Apple and more.  Brian has also had his work featured in some of the country’s leading Pop Art Galleries like Spoke Art in San Francisco and Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles.

Saturday 6/24 – Fifty West

Fifty West’s Doom Pedal get’s reimagined by Rob Warwick and at 6pm they’re tapping Doom Pedal and Tangelo IPA.  About Rob Warnick:

Rob has done official artwork and posters for bands like Modest Mouse, Cake, Death Cab For Cutie, The Wallflowers and more.

You can see a full gallery of all the work below – but you should try to make it to as many of these as you can – they’ve become quite the beer collectible here in Cincinnati now!
