The second annual ‘Brewer’s Open’ – Charity Golf Classic is getting ready to kick off. Last years event was a big hit last year with everyone who attended, and this year is shaping up to be even better. If you didn’t hit the links with your local breweries last year, don’t miss out on the chance to take part in this years tournament! Not sure what I’m talking about? You’re in luck, I’ll explain.
The Details
The event is set for Monday, October 2nd with an 11am shotgun start, after that you’re in for a day filled with fun, prizes and a ton of great beers from breweries all over Cincinnati. It’s exactly what you think it is, a charity golf tournament, and this years event is taking place at Glenview Golf Course. Glenview has been rated as the top public golf course in Cincinnati for over 6 years.
The event itself is a blast, Lunch and Dinner are both provided by the course, with Dinner being served up buffet style so that all the players will be able to gather in the same room as prizes and awards are given out. It will give you a chance to mingle and do a little post game drinking. Speaking of the prizes – they’re doing things in a big way, with the chance to win $10,000 in cash, a brand new Chevy Corvette and of course their awesome $5,000 putting contest that everyone loved so much last year.
Last year the event raised a ton of money to help support ProKids, and this year they’re going to be attempting to do the same for our local Brewing Heritage Trail – a cause I can certainly get behind 100%. They’re hoping to raise at least $5000 dollars with this years fundraiser.
Taking Part
Sponsorships (as well as early bird registrations) are now being accepted over on their website… so if you’re a brewery, bottle shop, or related business and you want to do your part in helping out to make this event a success – start with that. They will definitely need breweries that are wanting to get their beer out to sign up for sponsorships.
If you’re not a brewery, though, and maybe not even a golfer – you can always sign up to volunteer during the event, as they’ll need plenty of people to pour beer!!
However… if you are a golfer, you might have the best side of it – you can sign up to participate right now and get a discounted rate! Do it!
