You know the beer… you’ve had it plenty of times, I hope.  I can assume you’ve never had it this way, though.  It only makes sense to me that Saber Tooth Tiger would be getting canned (instead of?  In addition to bottled?) because cans are clearly the better vessel for storing and transporting beer.  The vessel hides the precious liquid from light, from oxygen, and it preserves it until that amazing moment when you crack the top and unleash the aromatics into your face.

Before we take a look, let’s go ahead and give the label a quick read:

Prehistorically hopped Imperial India Pale Ale that attacks the senses with potent notes of papaya, mango, and peach yet it finishes its prey (your palate) with a crisp clean citrus bitterness.

The beer is 8.5% ABV and comes in at 95 IBUs – again… you should be familiar with this guy at this point, though.  The cans are 12ozers too, which pulls the beer back from being only available in the previous 22oz bombers, which for a 8.5% IPA, is a welcome change in my book too – there are times where I want to drink one, but not 22oz of one.

Stay Tuned!

A quick note: This is a label approval from the TTB, which means that although it might and probably will happen, this is no guarantee of either of those, and certainly no signal of when, either.  So keep your eyes peeled, but don’t get angry if you don’t see it.
