If you haven’t had the chance to see how much the little pocket next to OTR that is called Pendleton has changed in the last couple of years – you should pay attention to this. The neighborhood’s brewery, Three Points is celebrating their first anniversary in on June 8th from 11am until 2am with a festival to celebrate art, beer and their first year in business.

The free festival is going to showcase their philosophy of combining not just art and beer, but the very experience itself into one cohesive vision that you have to see to grasp.

The Art

Starting late this month, local artist Jenny Ustick has been working on a community mural on the brewery’s west wall. During the festival guests will actually get the opportunity to paint alongside Jenny to help their own artwork become a piece of the finished work. You’ll be filling in lines and areas and will have the ability for years to come to tell all your drinking buddies that you helped create that piece.

In addition to the mural, artists will also be commissioned to complete unique pieces of art that will reflect their own styles on 8’x8’ wood boards. These artists will be on hand painting outside the brewery to allow people to walk through and see the art being created live. These board will be displayed in Bolivar Alley, to extend the Artworks New Lines Project in Pendleton.

If you’re a glassware geek like me… you’ll also want to stick around for a couple limited edition glasses featuring art from Matthew Dayler and Joel Knueven to beef up that collection even more!

The Beer

Let’s not kid around… a brewery anniversary is nothing without beer. Of course 3 Points understands that as well as anyone. They’ve gathered a lineup of guest taps and beer releases that will be sure to get you at least a little bit excited to grab a drink:

  • Little Fish Brewing – Notes From The Understory
  • Wolf’s Ridge – Terre Du Sauvage Green
  • West Sixth – Sixfold VIII Blackberry Sour
  • Yellow Springs – BA Captain Stardust

Special Releases? Yeah… they’ve got those too! You know they aren’t going to leave you hanging without some great beers made in house too:

  • Kirigami – a special Double IPA version of Origami
  • Uncle Larry – American Wheat Ale
  • Cuddle – Fruited Quick Sour
  • Thoughts in Morse Code – Nordic Farmhouse Ale
  • Psychogeography – Brett Beer

Entertainment

Since the party kicks off at 11am, they’re also kickthing things off early with DJ Brunch with CHX (the chicken restaurant next door) where CHX will be unveiling their new weekend brunch menu featuring chicken, biscuits and more. DJ Shines will kick it off on the music side of things.

At 1pm, outdoor family hour and live art kicks off. Broadway Street becomes family central, with oversized cornhole, face painting, live art, beer tents and more surrounding the brewery.

At 7pm Andrea Summer is celebrating her “Wanderlust” album release with Three Points. A Pendleton Resident herself, it makes perfect sense to celebrate at the brewery with a live acoustic set from the album.

It’s going to be a blast… go ahead… mark those calendars!
