Low-calorie anything might stir up a certain image in your head… It doesn’t always mean “good”, and Braxton understands this. They are looking to break through some of those barriers with their latest release, Hop Fit. I talked a little bit earlier in the year about low-calorie beers as a trend that we would see a few of around town this year – and if this is any sign of what’s to come… things are going to get pretty fun.
About The Beer
They’ve been test batching this beer for a while now, looking to get the recipe right, and prove to their fans that you don’t have to sacrifice flavor and quality to get a beer that is a little better for you. The beer is brewed to bring a balance of tropical pineapple, mango and citrus notes – and they dry hopped it with everyones favorites: Citra, Galaxy and Mosaic hops to make sure that it brings the hop kick that you love.
The beer comes in at a nice, easy-drinking 4% ABV, 25 IBUs and only 100 calories. If you’re worried about carb overload – you don’t have to stress with this one – at only 5grams of carbs per can, you’re in the clear.
Speaking of those cans… they went in a different direction with this release. You’ll find six packs of slim cans that do a fantastic job in showcasing that this is not just a normal session IPA, but one that looks to find a role in healthier lifestyles, and different situations.
When & Where Can You Get Hop Fit?
Hop Fit is set to drop in March, all over their distribution footprint in Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton, Louisville, Lexington – and of course right at home in their Covington taproom.
They’re hosting a release event in their taproom on March 7th where you can experience the beer first hand… and they’re presenting it alongside a Pound & Pour workout class, an obstacle course, and a live DJ, sampling and more. If you’re looking for more info – just head over to the Facebook event here to get all the details.
The beer will retail for $9.99 a six-pack, which goes to show you that you don’t have to spend more to be a little healthier. It falls right in line with the rest of their lineup, and I look forward to seeing how the beer finds it’s place next to their other beers.
