In the last few months, a couple of new year-round beers hit the shelves from Cleveland’s Great Lakes Brewing Company that if I know your love for beer – I think you’re going to want to know about.
Let’s tackle them one at a time, and see if we can get you a little thirsty reading this:
Hazecraft
Engineered on the 2-barrel pilot system at Great Lakes, Hazecraft IPA is a smooth-drinking Hazy IPA that is brewed with a tasty blend of Azacca, Lemondrop, and Simcoe hops to give it loads of juicy and tropical aromas. The label on the beer (which was designed by artist Sam Hadley, features a cloudy, melon-hued retro space scene.
The beer joins Great Lakes’ year-round selection of beers that you already love – but was the first of their year-round beers to hit the canning line exclusively.
The beer clocks in at 6.7% ABV and 40 IBUs. It was inspired by Ohio’s deep roster of trailblazing astronauts… and if you see it on a shelf – snag it!
Crushworthy
Crushworthy is just that… crushable. It’s a low-cal citrus wheat beer, and it joined the year-round lineup last month filling a void in the ‘Better-For-You’ category for Great Lakes.
This beer clocks in at just 4% ABV with a low 105 calories, it’s got a sessionable, light body with bursts of citrus aroma and flavor. They use an addition of orange and lemon puree and peel in the beer to give it that bright citrus touch.
This beer is the brewery’s first entry into the low-calorie space and joins their portfolio in cans as something that is lighter, and sessionable while still being delicious and not skimping on flavor. The artwork features a tattoo-inspired illustration of a juicy citrus heart, done by artist Sam Hadley, and is framed by bright yellow accents. It speaks loudly to the beer’s playful and crushable nature.
Do it. Get it. Drink it!
