Black Friday is about shopping… it’s about kicking off the Christmas season by kicking off your spending (or this year hopefully wrapping it up). What do you get the beer lover in your life, though? I have a shopping guide that will get you through most of that – but you can never go wrong with snagging some beer.

Regardless of if you’re buying something for under the tree, or to put on the table with friends and family through the holidays, there are some awesome releases happing on Black Friday that you might want to know about!

Brink – Barrel-Aged Moozie – 10am

This big Imperial Milk stout is birthed from it’s little brother – a GABF award winning beer that needs no introduction. When Brink releases one of their barrel-aged beers, your ears should automatically perk up, because while they don’t do it often – when they do it’s usually something pretty special. This one looks like it’s going to be no exception to that, either!

If that’s not enough for you – they’ve got some exclusive variants on draft only that day:

  • Mint Chocolate Moozie
  • Oreo Nightbringer Imperial Stout
  • Chocolate Strawberries and Cream Milkshake IPA
  • Espresso Pillowcase Candy
  • Damocles – Black Milkshake IPA

Fretboard – BBA Drummer Boy – 12pm

Ready for the winter season, Fretboards big winter warmer ale kicks it up a notch on Friday – it’s made its way out of Buffalo Trace Bourbon barrels and into a four pack for you to sip on this winter. Vanilla, Cinnamon, Orange Peel, Honey, Ginger and of course Bourbon come together in this one… you’re gonna wanna snag some of this!

  • Bourbon Barrel-Aged Drummer Boy

HighGrain – Maul… and Friends – 11am

HighGrain’s big Imperial Stout is barrel-aged and definitely one that you’ll wanna add to the fridge for this season. These guys have been doing an incredible job of cranking out some true-to-style gems out of their Silverton brewery and this one is no exception to that. Last year, Maul’d Eagle hit cans at 11.4% ABV after it spent 12 months in barrels – and it was absolutely fantastic – I have no doubts that this year will be just as tasty.

  • Maul – Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout
  • Chai & Vanilla Bourbon Barrel Aged Maul
  • Maple & Coffee Bourbon Barrel Aged Maul
  • Rye Barrel Aged Maul

Listermann – Ray Ray – 10am

Listermann’s Ray Ray is an annual release of a barrel-aged imperial stout. The brewery drops several variants every year, and you’ll definitely wanna make sure you’re snagging some this year if you’re a fan of those big ‘ol Listermann beers. The brewery will hand out order forms to the first 100 people in line at 9am, with the doors opening at 10.

  • Ray Ray – Caramel Apple Brandy
  • Ray Ray – Angel’s Tip
  • Ray Ray – Buffalo Trace, Single Barrel
  • Ray Ray – Banana Pancakes
  • Ray Ray – Sweet and Savory

Nine Giant – Cookies and Cream Heavy Metal Drummer – 11am

Nine Giant is opening their doors on Black Friday not just for a place that you can take a break from all the shopping – but for you to continue it, too. They’re releasing a new version of their Heavy Metal Drummer Imperial Stout, this time it’s got cookies and cream backing it up. Alongside the new release, you’ll find some goodies coming out of the archives – so there will be several bottles that you will most likely wanna snag for stocking stuffers!

  • Cookies & Cream Heavy Metal Drummer

Sonder – Family Tradition – 8am Online, Doors at 9:30

This tradition stems back to that of co-founder Justin Neff and his Dad’s yearly ritual of hunting down a certain stout every Black Friday. When Sonder opened it’s doors it was clear that the tradition had to find it’s way into the culture of the brewery, too. While this is the second release – because of what last year looked like, we’re only just beginning to get a glimpse of what this release event will eventually become.

  • Heaven Hill Family Tradition
  • Cherry Almond Crisp Family Tradition
  • Fluffer Nutter Family Tradition
  • Blueberry Maple Pancake Family Tradition
  • Raspberry Truffle Family Tradition

Streetside – Barrel Aged Robe – 11am

You remember Robe, right? It was only a matter of time before Streetside locked some of this massive pastry stout in a few barrels – and Black Friday is the day that they’re let loose upon the world. This beer is big, bold and doesn’t shy away from it’s donut character (it’s a red velvet ale) – You’re gonna like this! Releasing on Friday:

  • New Riff Barrel Aged Robe
  • New Riff Barrel Aged Chocolate Peanut Buttery Robe

Swine City – Mystery Can

Swine is being a little sneaky and tight lipped about what their release will be on Friday – however, they’re throwing a stout blowout that day, so I’d certainly be surprised if we didn’t see a couple of stouts in these 12oz Cans! I’ll update the post as soon as we know more!

  • Life After Brunch – Maple Coffee Stout

Third Eye – Barrel-Aged Astral – 10am

Astral is a Barrel-Aged stout with chocolate, maple and vanilla, and (so far) the only one of Third Eye’s beers that you’ll find in bottles. For the second year in a row they’re releasing this tasty guy on Black Friday, along with a full lineup of draft variants that you can hang out and taste before you kick off your day of shopping. Doors open at 10am!

On tap you’ll find:

  • Double Astra
  • Peanut Butter Double Astra
  • S’Mores Double Astra
  • Coffee Double Astra
  • Coconut Double Astra

West Side – Imperial Stouts – 11am

If you know West Side, you’re probably thrilled to get your hands on their Imperial Stout this year – they know how to brew a fantastic, true to style beer afterall. That doesn’t mean they don’t have another side to their personality though – and to prove it to you, their letting a few other beers back up their release this year. You’ll wanna stop in for cans of:

  • Imperial Stout
  • Cold Brew Imperial Stout
  • Mexican Hot Chocolate Imperial Stout (Draft Only)
  • Blonde Stout (Draft Only)
