BC’s Brewing Company has a long history as part of Cincinnati’s Craft Beer Scene… even if the brewery technically opened it’s doors in 2024. They company was founded by Brian Brownlow and Caleb Colbert back in 2016 as what was then called ‘BC’s Bottle Lodge’. Back at that time when they opened their first location in Liberty Township they wanted to fill a gap in the community – a place to provide packaged beer sales, growler fills, and even more importantly community to a part of town that was desperate for it.
In the years after they opened the Bottle Lodge a lot changed. They opened a second location, and their model continued to shift and evolve every year with an industry that still doesn’t seem to understand or know what it is. It all led to where they are today. Forced to close both original bottle shop locations as they were gearing up for their biggest evolution, yet. BC’s Brewery.
What To Expect From BC’s Brewing
BC’s is a killer old school-modeled taproom. Big open space with a large bar at one side of the room. A big beer garden out back is perfect for the summer months and a private event room sits right on the front side of the building.
They physical space, though is only scratching the surface of what makes BC’s who they are. In the same way that the original Bottle Lodge businesses were, the brewery is built upon community. While the brewery is a great space for craft beer fans to gather and get a little nerdy about what they’re drinking, it’s a space that stays comfortable no matter what type of drinker you happen to be.
What You’re Drinking
There are some breweries that are really easy to describe by one or two beer styles that they do well (or do at all) – and that’s not even close to the case with BC’s. While yeah, they make a solid light options, solid hoppy beers, and some great dark stuff – all that means is that it’s hard to categorize them.
You’ll find cocktails on tap, wine, cider, coffee… when I tell you that you’ll be happy no matter what type of drinker you are (or what type of mood you’re in), I mean it!
