All About Darkness Brewing

Darkness Brewing was planned up with the goal of creating a space that was nice, and relaxing – a place where the owners Eric and Ron could kick back and have a pint of their beer and a great time. The duo met while their wives were working together in Bellevue, and they came up with the idea after brewing together for a few years to bring a brewery to the neighborhood. They don’t have any plans to grow into a massive operation, happy instead to serve the people who live in their neighborhood with beer they can be proud of.

What’s Darkness Like?

Darkness brewing is housed in a big warehouse-type space, the taproom sits behind a big garage door in the heart of Bellevue, Kentucky, right down the street from the Party Source. They have a great taproom, with a large bar and plenty of table seating. Their beer is brewed up on their 3.5bbl ‘Frankensystem’, but don’t think that all they do is dark beers just because of their name. They manage to keep a rotating tap list that straddles many different styles, and they offer up guest taps from time to time to fill in the gaps.

The Darkness Brewing Company Timeline

May, 2015 – Darkness announces their crowd funding effort to help launch their brewery.
7/23/16 – The brewery hosts their Grand Opening celebration
2018 – Darkness signs with Adena distributing to start getting kegs of their beer out into the world around them.
2020 – The first bottles make their way out of the brewery, and into stores (on a very limited basis)
