It’s a collaboration that saw two really amazing family businesses come together first in 2017 to create a beer that lit both beer fans and ice-cream fans on fire about a release. Graeter’s makes what is arguably the world’s best ice cream, and ever since that first release, Braxton Brewing company has used it to inspire new flavors, year after year.

The collaboration returns this year, with a release event on February 28th, showcasing the latest result of the collaboration: Black Cherry Chocolate Chip White Stout. The Graeter’s collaboration makes a jump from four packs of 12oz cans into four packs of 16oz cans for this year’s first release too – meaning more beer for you to enjoy!

The brewery says that the beer is brewed to be a decadent dessert beer – it’s crafted with notes of sweet black cherries, rich dark chocolate and an indulgent medium-bodied white stout. Taking it’s flavor profile right from the iconic Graeter’s Black Cherry Chocolate Chip Ice Cream – this is handcrafted to be reminiscent of one of America’s most memorable desserts: the chocolate covered cherry.

If you want to read more about what I think about this release, you can read my full tasting notes here – I got a little sneak peek at this beer back while I was recording this week’s episode of Cincy Brewcast with Evan Rouse.

The Greater’s Collaboration Release Event

It all starts on Friday, February 28th, and keeps rolling through to Sunday, March 1st. Guests to Braxton’s event will ge two experience a donut popup shop by Graeter’s Ice Cream, Ice Cream sampling throughout the weekend and a special visit from the Cincinnati Zoo on Sunday.

Of course… four packs of the beer will be available for purchase all weekend long, too!
