I have been teasing this as a probability for quite a while now. We’re finally seeing the first of a taproom exclusive series of cans from our very own Sam Adams’ taproom here in Cincinnati. If you’re a regular viewer of my live-streamed “show” on Monday evenings (it’s called the weekly pint) you’ll know that I like to keep you up to date on the latest label approvals from our local spots. Sam Adams has been kicking out a few labels here and there pretty steadily, and finally we’re getting them into our hands.

First up, fittingly enough, on 513 day – which was May 13th they released their Cincinnati exclusive ‘513’ ale. It’s a beer brewed just for the city… and It’s tasty as heck. 513 is a lager, which comes in around 5.2% ABV. From the label on the cans:

513 is a recipe decided upon by Cincinnatians, for Cincinnatians. We heard your voices loud and clear and decided to bring it back to our Cincinnati taproom for Cincinnatians (One more time: Cincinnati). A beer for anyone who thinks pigs can fly, 4,256 hits will never be passed, chili belongs on spaghetti and proudly calls themselves a Cincinnatian (there it is again). This classically hopped American lager blends a complex, malty backbone with bright hop notes for a refreshingly balanced beer.

This first release is a sign that we are going to start seeing all those other beers that have been teased, too. I expect that this summer is going to be a good one for us fans of Sam Adams!

If you’re wanting a little sneak peek at some other beers we might be seeing down the line, you know I’ve gotcha!
