This should be a strong sign to everyone that these guys mean serious business about how big they want to be in Ohio. It was just around five months ago that Moeller Brew Barn announced plans for their third taproom (they have their original spot in Maria Stein, and a second taproom in a converted church in Troy), and now, they’re letting loose on the news that they’re planning something big for Piqua, also.

The New Space

First and foremost, this new space will be a production space to keep up with the increased demand for the brewery’s products in Ohio. Their demand keeps growing, and they want to keep growing with it. This new production brewery will be in a 30,000-foot building that will be constructed on a site that is around 16 acres.

The new site is in a prime location, situated right along Interstate 75 and connects to the Ohio-to-Indiana trail and to downtown Piqua.

As far as brewing – the new location will be capable of producing 25,000 barrels per year with definite potential for adding more capacity in the future, too. It’s part of a big, long-term plan for the brewery, and is expected to add 20-25 more jobs by the end of its first year of operations.

You can expect brewery tours, a tasting room, and a whole new experience to add to what you currently know about Moeller Brew Barn. These guys aren’t messing around!

Update

This production facility deal ended up falling through – however, the sad news is backed up with the happy news that they are now moving into Monroe with the purchase of the old Rivertown brewery space!
