If you’re a regular reader of the blog, you know that I have massive love for Sam Adams, not just for what they have done for brewing in Cincinnati over the last 20+ years… but in more recent history, too. When the brewery opened its taproom/nano-brewery in OTR back in 2018 it showed how much they respect this city. I’ve written about that quite a bit in the past… that’s not what this is all about.

The Taproom Anniversary

Since it’s now been four years – the brewery knew that they had to step up and throw a party worthy of that. Luckily for us… they’ve got some “tools” that make doing that a lot easier! They have so many great things going on, in fact, that they are spreading things out to two different days to make sure they get it all in (or to make sure you can get it all in). It starts tomorrow, 11/18, and keeps on going all through Saturday 11/19 – and trust me, you’re going to need all that time for this!

Utopias!

I’ll just start things off with one of the things that I know gets you riled up the most, and that’s one of the most sought-out beers you can think of, Utopias. I’ve written about my thoughts on Utopias before, so you know how I feel about this incredible beer, but have you ever had the chance to try several different vintages side by side? Not a ton of folks have. How about 2005, 2015, 2019, and 2021 vintages side by side? I told you it was going to be epic. I’d recommend snagging a tasting ticket ahead of time on their website for the tasting.

Production Brewery Tours

If you’re a fan of Sam Adams or a fan of Cincinnati beer, this is a really, really cool opportunity. Sam Adams is opening up their massive production facility across the street from the taproom for limited tours, and I can’t recommend this enough. This behind-the-scenes peek at not just a historical brewery building, but a state-of-the-art production facility is absolutely incredible. They’re doing one of these each day, so much like your Utopias tasting, you’ll wanna head over to the website to book this ahead of time.

Even More Fun

Don’t think that if you’re not drinking Utopias or going on a tour that there isn’t going to be anything to do, though. The taproom will be hoppin’ with free live music both days, as well as the release of their fourth-anniversary beer, Maple Pecan Portopias. They’re also releasing a new cocktail-inspired beer called “Ol’ Fashioned Holiday” which from what I hear is pretty freakin’ tasty!
