They’ve got one of the best Marzen’s in the city (we proved that… it’s science.) So I think that it’s important that you’re aware of West Side Brewing’s Oktoberfest celebration that kicks off this weekend, and continues on through next Thursday.
Instead of cramming all their events into one or two days, the brewery has decided to spread it out, and create six whole days of festivities for you to show off your Lederhosen, your Dirndl, and of course flex your stein muscles at the same time.
Here’s what you can expect, in addition to German themed food truck menus all week long, and their killer Oktoberfest beer pouring from taps:
Saturday 9/14
Kick it all off with not just the fantastic Zinzinnati Bier Band playing in the taproom, but with the debut of some special themed West Side merch too. I’m talking about hats, scarves, steins… all the gear that you’re going to need this week to do it right.
Sunday 9/15
Sunday is all about food. The brewery is hosting the Beerded Pig for a showcase of German deliciousness. This brat eating contest will start at 4pm, and if you’re wanting to show what you’ve got you’ll only need $5 for your entry fee. You might also wanna bring your friends and family, though, to see you achieve Oktober-glory. Real Live Humans will entertain the taproom starting at 4pm.
Wednesday 9/18
Wednesday marks a good old fashioned stein holding contest. This feat of strength will put you to the test, and even if you embarrass yourself and your German heritage, at the end of things you at least get a filled stein to nurse your ego. $12 earns you your spot… biceps will earn you your glory.
Thursday 9/19
To wrap up the week, West Side brought in Bidinger Musikanten, a 16 piece band from Germany who will be playing in the taproom at 7pm to close it all out.
